Being self-employed, I get to choose who I work for, and how much I charge them. It's nice to have the opportunity to 'give something back', so in-between slaving away for multi-national corporations, I sometimes get the time to put together something for people who can't really afford to pay me.
I like to barter my skills, and so far I have 'earned' several paintings, a nice wooden screen, a few collections of poems and several signed books by an 'almost famous' author.
