I started designing websites in 1999, with basic text editing programmes and an HTML dictionary, which has given me a very good knowledge of the idiosyncracies of the internet. Nowadays I still I like to get my hands into the code and tend to use a simple HTML Editor (My current favorite is BBedit) to create web-sites, rather than relying on 'What you see is what you get' editors. Over the years I have kept up-to-date with web technologies and languages, but I still design with three simple principles in mind; a website must:
- Be easy to understand and navigate
- Be quick to download for the user
- Have a 'clean' design
